WHAT IS THE IDEAL GROUP SIZE?

Group sizes can range from 6 to 50+ people. The most common size for a group is between 12—25 people.

WHERE DO YOU RUN YOUR RETREATS?

We run our programs in the Berkshire Mountains of Massachusetts and beyond. Conveniently located between NY and Boston, we work with several hotels, B&B’s and lodges to provide you with the experience you want within the budget that you’re looking for.

WHERE ARE YOU LOCATED EXACTLY?

Our offices are in Great Barrington, MA, one of the Best Small Towns in America, according to The Smithsonian Magazine. We love it here. We re-located from the New York City area about seven years ago and haven’t looked back! Here’s a link to driving directions.

HOW LONG DOES A RETREAT LAST?

Whenever possible, we suggest that the program lasts at least 3-days/2-nights so that your group has a real opportunity to immerse themselves in the experience and has ample time to connect, bond and reflect. However, we will work with whatever time you have available and makes sense.

DO YOU HAVE A SAMPLE ITINERARY?

As a matter of fact we have a few:

WHAT IS THE PRE-PROGRAM CONSULTATION LIKE?

It generally lasts about an hour and is designed to give us a better idea of your goals and objectives for the retreat. They can be conducted in person or via phone or video conference. We will discuss program length, themes, activities, and more. Our team will then create a suggested itinerary with specific activities and or workshops for you to review. Together we will finalize the itinerary, costs and lock down a date.

WHAT IS EXTENDED PRE-PROGRAM CONSULTING?

For an additional cost, we are happy to work with you on an extended pre-program consulting process that can include assessments such as a 360-Degree Feedback Process, interviews with the employees or the Executive Team, and more. The more information we have, the better we are able to develop a transformational program for your group!

WHAT’S THE TIMELINE FROM PRE-PROGRAM CONSULT TO RETREAT?

This can vary depending on the length of the retreat, activity types and even seasonal considerations. For example, a simple two-day team building retreat in November can be run within weeks of the Pre-Program Consultation; an extended, 4-day retreat that includes customized workshops and activities in the peak summer months could take a couple of months to plan and prepare for. Generally speaking, however, we understand that you’ve come to us with an opportunity or challenge that needs to be addressed promptly, so we’ll work with you to make sure your Team Retreat happens as soon as possible!

WHAT KINDS OF ACTIVITIES CAN I CHOOSE FROM?

Here is just a sampling of the types of activities you can choose from:

WHAT IS THE COST OF A TYPICAL RETREAT?

There are many factors that go into the investment for a retreat that it’s almost impossible to give a cost or even a range. Things to consider include: Length of Retreat; Size of Your Group; Type of Accommodations; Activities; Workshops; and Meal Options. Each program price is calculated based on all the above and more. Feel free to contact us if you have any further questions about cost.

WHAT IF WE JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN WITH NO CLASSROOM TRAINING?

Some teams want to be formally led in all activities and some want to be let loose to do it themselves. We can integrate as much “training” into all activities as desired. All of our activities and components can be customized to reflect whatever level of guidance and learning desired.

WHEN IS PAYMENT DUE?

Once we have finalized the itinerary and chosen the dates, we will ask for a non-refundable deposit in the amount of 50% of the retreat cost. This will allow us to secure program leaders, activities and accommodations. The second half payment is due one week prior to the retreat date.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE RETREAT?

We offer a post-retreat follow-up plan which will help reinforce learnings and bring actions plans back to the workplace. The usual retreat includes one post-program session. Additional post-program options are available for your group as well, including:
Executive Coaching
Professional Development Coaching
Leadership Development Programs
Monthly Advisory Services

WHAT HAPPENS IN BAD WEATHER?

Some activities will be cancelled in bad weather. Your meeting planner will provide you with a suggested packing list so you’ll be prepared no matter what.

“Mike Jaffe’s approach to leadership development and coaching has changed our entire leadership mindset in only a few months! As our company faces seismic market changes and the need to reorganize to grow our position, our leaders are faced with the challenges of “playing bigger” and doing more with their teams. Mike has helped us to permeate the hearts and minds of our people with this proactive attitude. He recently facilitated several workshops and delivered his keynote at our leadership conference where he provided tangible takeaways and tools that are already having a meaningful impact on our executive team and broader leadership group. With an authentic style and manner, he has connected with us to teach simple but important ways to build trust and foster communications amongst team members. The result is greater collaboration and higher performing teams. We are lucky to have Mike as our partner and consider him a key secret to our success!”
